PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

A Pharmacy Technician works closely with a pharmacist to locate, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before dispensed by the patient. 

They might also help pharmacists with administrative tasks such as processing insurance claims, tracking inventory, and filing paperwork. 

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the forecasted growth demand for Pharmacy Technicians between now and 2031 is 9.9%. 

Annual salaries range widely from $30K-$52k. Hourly pay typically ranges from $18 to $25, depending on experience. Plus, the role often comes with full-time benefits like health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans.

Pharmacy Technicians can be found working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals & health systems, clinics, physician offices, urgent care centers, retail pharmacies, and compounding pharmacies.

Virtual Classroom Theory: Tuesday & Thursday 8am-11pm 

Skills Training: Tuesday & Thursday 11:30pm-2:30pm 

Clinical Externship:  TBD (Student agrees to work the schedule of preceptor at assigned facility. Program Director will provide details of clinical rotation site once confirmed based on location availability and proximity to student.)
